Kathleen’s Engagement Ring

Kathleen’s ring is one of the most decadent rings I’ve had the pleasure of making. Kathleen is a close friend of mine and knew her boyfriend would be reaching out soon. She gave me her list of criteria which boiled down to; round solitaire look from the top, maybe an emerald incorporated somewhere, and some detail of sorts on the side to give it a feel of its own. Her now fiance, Conor and I took the idea and incorporated a healthy dose of panache. Both sides of the band are engraved in a wheat motif, with flowers and branches arching into the gallery space. Instead of the traditional diamond halo, the ring is set with full saturation emeralds which add such a regal feel against the 18k yellow gold. The diamond itself is an antique euro cut held in by six claw prongs. Simple elegance from the top, regal elegance from the side.
