Olivia’s Engagement Ring

Possibly my most funkalicious ring yet, this unconventional ring was a delight to design. Unable to find what they were looking for in store, Olivia and Charlie came to me to create a truly custom piece. The specs I was given were: oval diamond on a 45 degree angle, interesting prongs, and cohesive design that blend the basket with the band. What we landed on was this button setting of sorts with the prongs clustered along the top and bottom of the diamond. The band itself varies in thickness as it wraps around the basket which gives it a sense of fluidity.

The mostly solid basket has an organic shaped window on one side which serves the double purpose of letting in light to help the diamond shine and being an aesthetic continuation of the fluidity found in the band. The thick basket of metal that the diamond is set into gives structural support to the ring to prevent it from bending out of shape the way other organic bands tend to do.
